I met a woman in Dubai. She was working for my sister in law. She was from Africa. We talked about the kids for whom she was a nanny, we talked about God, and we talked about food.
We talked about food. We didn't talk about the price of eggs these days, or the great restaurant we just tried, we talked about need.
A heaviness set in her eyes as she was preparing various Indian dishes. Indians make simple vegetables and things you didn't know were etible, wonderful. "My people don't know that they can make this, they don't know how," she said "I want to teach them."
She doesn't work for my sister in law anymore.
