The Woman Who Helped...

She lays awake at night.
To avoid the dreams
That haunt her sleep.
A never ending fight
To make the wrong
Seem right.
Everyone
Moved on.

The railroad trail
Always leads back
To the Labor Sign ahead
A tattooed wrist
A clenched fist
a forgotten wish
Frozen
For so Long.

Recollection fades
With every generation
But the barbed wire
closes in on the heart
of it's captive
History tossed
in with media trends
No money back,
It's Gone.

All the roads
Circle back
to the very thing
We pretend is Past
behind the new story
age old diversion glory
Her dying dream,
She hopes we won't
Forget.
