Baby Update (part 2)

I'm not very big, as you can see. Only 17 weeks along, but I'm big enough to start growing out of my clothes. I guess this is what they call "transition" time." What is a cool blessing, though, is that last Saturday I received 2 bags of maternity clothes. This outfit was in them. I didn't even know that there were "transition" clothes in there. Thanks Dina!!!! You truly are a blessing. Last Friday I took my driver's test with the button of my jeans undone.

Look at them longs legs. This is what we saw when we first peaked inside last week. Goofy. A friend asked me if I had a nickname for the baby. I guess I do, "goof ball". Seriously, I kind of felt guilty for not having one, but upon further thought, he's like my husband, he gets a new nickname every time I talk to him, and yes it is most likely a 'him'. We'll confirm at 20 weeks.

So, the name is Keane, prayerfully. Anne, it really isn't complicated, it's just pronounced "keen". We didn't give him an Indian first name, but his third name, now that is a doozy. It's Pannikamattu. It's John's family name. Poor kid has four names.....so far.

Should I be worried? In this past week, before I surrounded myself with pillows, I have caught myself laying on my back. I've heard this can be bad for the baby.

I like the name!! And don't worry about sleeping on your back! It's fine...you won't be able to do it after the baby gets bigger though, b/c you'll feel like you are suffocating...TRUST ME!!!

I wouldn't worry about your back either. Sometimes that's the only way to get comfortable. You look cute!

Another "don't worry about sleeping on your back" mom chiming in... I still sleep on my back quite often. It really only is bad once the baby is big enough to compress a major artery that goes from your heart to your legs... but you won't WANT to sleep on your back by then!

You look GREAT! Yay that he's a boy! (Or most likely a boy!) Neat name, and I'm all for family names as middle names, even if they're a mouthful or impossible to spell. :D

Super cute outfit and I really like your shoes. This definitely qualifies as showing in my book :)

Hi Sara, laying on your bed is not bad for the baby, at least not at this stage :) eventually you might somehow stop some blood circulation while you are asleep, but God is wonderful and created you in a way so that you notice, while asleep, that you should turn around!
Lots of love, Carmen

My email is elizabethre@nbbc.edu. Thanks for the advise!!
what is your due date?
Sorry for the delay.

January 15th. Yeah!!!

I'm tellin' ya, I get more excited about the baby, the more I'm informed of what to expect and the more I feel his kicking. It's amazing. Before now, I don't really think I "got it".

I slept on my back up until Titus was born! No big deal, like Carmen said, God designed your body to protect that little one. I love the name and am glad I will be able to spell it and pronounce 3 of the 4 names!
